the Convention People's Party (CPP)>>> *(Source)*: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Convention People's Party (CPP) is a political party in Ghana, based on the ideas of former President Kwame Nkrumah. The CPP was formed in 1949 by Kwame Nkrumah to campaign for the independence of the Gold Coast. It ruled Ghana from 1957 to 1966. During the latter part of the CPP rule, the constitution was changed to make it the only
legal party in Ghana, making the nation a one-party state. The party was banned after the February 24, 1966 coup d'état by the National Liberation Council. United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC) had been formed in 1947 with the goal of bringing about independence for Ghana. Kwame Nkrumah thought the UGCC's opposition

on these grounds, he founded the CPP with the motto "self-government now". On 9 January 1950 the CPP called for
countrywide boycotts and strikes. In the course of these, two policemen were shot dead, and the CPP leadership was arrested
and imprisoned. This only increased Nkrumah's popularity. When general elections were held in 1951, the CPP won decisively
despite the imprisonment of Dr Nkrumah and other party leaders. Nkrumah was subsequently released to form the colony's first

all this background, Nkrumah formed his first African cabinet in the British Empire in 1951. This was not independence yet.
He still rejected the idea that local rulers who favored the British should be given a role in governing, since he viewed

held, with the British promising that if the majority of the people called for it, a date for independence would be set. The
CPP won 71 out 104 seats, paving the way for Ghana to gain its independence on 6 March, 1957. In 1958, two pieces of legislation
approved by the CPP would help hasten Nkrumah's downfall. One was the Trade Union Act, which made strikes illegal, and the
Preventive Detention Act, which allowed the government to detain political opponents without trial. The stage was set for

"Million March to the White House" on Independence Day, July 4th 2010, followed by "Great March" from
the White House to the site of the Twin Towers in New York, on July 5th, 2010, says former Ghanaian-American Los Angeles Mayoral
Candidate, and Ex-Candidate for Governor of California --- "Osagyefo Dr" Kwame Appiah Boateng, popularly known by
Ghanaians around the World as "Kwame Mayor", (who aspires to run for President of Ghana in 2012, in his Native Homeland
of Ghana), and who has dramatically turned into "AMERICA'S MANDELA" --- in his gallant efforts to stage unprecedented
Triple Peace and Non-Violent Marches --- (to protest Global Terrorism and Police shootings, beatings and abuse of unarmed
Civilians, especially, Students in American University Campuses !!!) --- for example, the shooting on March 2, 2010 of unarmed

Day, (seeks to reclaim the eroding, yet, noble American Values of Freedom, Liberty and Respect for the Sanctity of Life),
said the Leader of the Triple Peace Marches --- Kwame Appiah Boateng, who has publicly appealed for Corporate,
Private Business and Public / Non-Profit Sponsors for the Peace Marches and also, has publicly appealed to Live Bands and
famous Singers like Bruce Springstein, Willie Nelson, Bruno, Madonna, Sade, Ziggy Marley, Snoop Dogg, Jay Z, etc, etc, to

(UAS) --- the first Nationwide Union for Students in American Universities, Colleges and High Schools, etc, which aims at

held on Monday, July 5th, 2010 at 12 Noon, in front of the White House, where March Organizers expect to meet with President
Barack Obama and hand him Petitions pertaining to the issues they are fighting for. Immediately after
the July 5th 2010 event, the third Peace March --- "The Great March" will begin from the White House at 1600 Pennsylvania
Avenue, ending at the Twin Towers site at 1 World Trade Center, New York, NY --- to raise funds for victims of Global Terrorism
and also, victims of Police killings, beatings and abuse --- according to the Politician's Website : WWW.KwameforPresident.Com. (It should be noted that Kofi Adu-Brempong, the Ghanaian Doctoral Student at the University of Florida
was allegedly shot in the face on March 2, 2010 by Campus Police, and in what can be described as ("Stalinist Era Modus
Operandi"), the victim --- not the perpetrators of the heinous crime of brutality, has instead, been charged with "aggravated
assault on an officer and resisting an officer with violence" --- and in the case of University of Maryland, charges
were filed against the victim, John J. McKenna and another victim, Benjamin C. Donat, but the charges' documents filed
by the Police were contradicted by the Video --- prompting Prosecutors to drop assault charges against both Students. (Prayers to "Tamper Justice with Mercy", would be said for Eric Frimpong, a UC Santa Barbara former Soccer Hero
and Native of Ghana, who led the University's Gauchos to their first-ever National Championship. However, in 2007
--- just weeks after being selected by the Kansas City Wizards in the MLS draft, he [Eric Frimpong], was allegedly --- falsely
accused of raping a white Female Student on the Beach). Millions of Americans, especially Students across
America, and African Immigrants as well as other Nationalities, are expected to participate in both the July 4th and July
5th Peaceful (Non-Violent) Marches, according to March Organizers --- not only to reclaim America's eroding, yet Civilized
Values of Freedom, Liberty and Respect for the Sanctity of Life, but also, to call for an end to Global Terrorism; Nuclear
and Narcotic Terrorism, and an end to the use of Deadly and Excessive force against defenseless Civilians, especially Students
anywhere in the World). Some of the Nation's famous Civil Rights Leaders have been publicly invited to speak
