the Convention People's Party (CPP)>>> *(Source)*: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Convention People's Party (CPP) is a political party in Ghana, based on the ideas of former President Kwame Nkrumah. The CPP was formed in 1949 by Kwame Nkrumah to campaign for the independence of the Gold Coast. It ruled Ghana from 1957 to 1966. During the latter part of the CPP rule, the constitution was changed to make it the only
legal party in Ghana, making the nation a one-party state. The party was banned after the February 24, 1966 coup d'état by the National Liberation Council. United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC) had been formed in 1947 with the goal of bringing about independence for Ghana. Kwame Nkrumah thought the UGCC's opposition
to the colonial rulers lacked the necessary vehemence and urgency; he wanted immediate independence. Breaking from the UGCC
on these grounds, he founded the CPP with the motto "self-government now". On 9 January 1950 the CPP called for
countrywide boycotts and strikes. In the course of these, two policemen were shot dead, and the CPP leadership was arrested
and imprisoned. This only increased Nkrumah's popularity. When general elections were held in 1951, the CPP won decisively
despite the imprisonment of Dr Nkrumah and other party leaders. Nkrumah was subsequently released to form the colony's first

all this background, Nkrumah formed his first African cabinet in the British Empire in 1951. This was not independence yet.
He still rejected the idea that local rulers who favored the British should be given a role in governing, since he viewed

held, with the British promising that if the majority of the people called for it, a date for independence would be set. The
CPP won 71 out 104 seats, paving the way for Ghana to gain its independence on 6 March, 1957. In 1958, two pieces of legislation
approved by the CPP would help hasten Nkrumah's downfall. One was the Trade Union Act, which made strikes illegal, and the
Preventive Detention Act, which allowed the government to detain political opponents without trial. The stage was set for

in Ghana" ---- as he pleads with the White House and United States Congress to link aid to Ghana to Press Freedom; Freedom
of Expression and Protection of Civil Liberties and immediately cut all funding or grants to organizations that corrupt themselves
to suppress Individual Freedom of Speech and Expression". Praising former Republican President George
Bush's African Policy that "Scared the Hell out of African Dictators who were persecuting, killing, and torturing their
own African brothers and sisters" --- (a period when despotic African Political Leaders and Nation Wreckers like former
Military Junta Leader Jerry John Rawlings got scared everyday that he and his cohorts could be captured and hanged
by U.S. led "Coalition of the Willing" --- in the same way as Iraq's Saddam Hussein was captured and hanged
for "Crimes Against Humanity") --- former Ghanaian-American Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate and Volunteer/Precinct
Captain for President Barack Obama's 2008 Campaign in Southern California, "Osagyefo Dr" Kwame Appiah Boateng, popularly
known by Ghanaians all over the World as "Kwame Mayor", has faulted his Political Friend and Admirer -- President
Barack Obama for shaking hands with Rawlings and Kufuor during his trip to Ghana --- (thus sending them wrong signals that
there was nothing wrong with Rawlings' extraordinary Human Rights abuses in Ghana and that, there was nothing wrong with
Kufuor's brutal mistreatment against him) --- also, faulting Obama's White House' "Soft Policy in Africa"
as directly or indirectly encouraging the return of tyrants back to power to continue their persecution, torturing, humiliatiation,
killing and silencing of defenseless African People -- pointing to the mistreatment of Journalists in Ghana and obstacles
placed in the way of those who dare to exercise their Freedom of Speech. " I surely want President
Barack Obama to win a second term despite the fact that his Political campaign team or Campaign Management discriminated against
me after exploiting my time and energy to volunteer for "Obama for America's" campaign from Day One.
"I told Obama's Campaign Team from Day One that the main reason I wanted to volunteer for his Campaign was to dream America's
"Political Dream", that is, getting the opportunity as a highly educated and qualified indigenous African to get
a position at the White House. " A Lady working for Obama for America's Campaign Team in Los Angeles
contacted me after I had sent my resume to Obama's Campaign. The Lady claimed that she had been asked by Obama's Campaign to
contact me and told me : " If you don't have money to contribute to Obama's Campaign, then roll your sleeves
just like everybody and work for the Campaign before we can consider your resume". " I worked
so hard for Obama's campaign, for example, using my own phone to call out-of-State and urging People to vote for Barack Obama".
"Ever since President Barack Obama got into the White House, I have sent my resumes countless of times and neither the
White House or his Campaign team has even sent a reply, and I still say "Yes, We Can", said the Scholar who, according
to American Public officials, is more educated than about 70% of America's population and who speaks his mind Morally
and Ethically, exactly like the Legendary Nelson Mandela. "Seriously, the White House and
United States Congress should link aid to Ghana to Press Freedom; Freedom of Expression and protection of Civil Liberties", repeated
the former Ghanaian-American Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate. "The Whole World knows that even under
the government of my nemesis, former President John Agyekum Kufuor who tortured my life after systematically stealing

we hear about an NPP activist who was arrested for accusing Rawlings --- a Civil Matter, and we hear about a Journalist being
subjected into what is tantamount to "Nazi-era style of interrogation", and only God knows whether bribery
or fear has taken place to silence "Osagyefo Dr" Kwame Appiah Boateng ("Kwame Mayor"), who is undoubtedly,
the "Conscience of Ghana", said the pro-American Democracy activist and Human Rights / Civil Rights icon.
"Fellow Believers of Democracy, Freedom of Speech, why is everybody asking whether the Voice of Kwame Mayor is being

that "Allan Cash" is "Kufuor's Man" in the eyes of many Ghanaians and that the former President could
use "Allan Cash" as a "Puppet", in the same way Rawlings did to His Excellency, President John
Evans Atta Mills --- has surprisingly, endorsed Nana Akufo Addo for NPP's 2012 Flagbearership --- according to the Politician's
Campaign Website : WWW.KwameforPresident.Com "Nana Akuffo Addo is more experienced and a democratic who has sacrificed more for the NPP
tradition in the same way I sacrifice everyday intellectually to promote CPP", said "Osagyefo Dr" Kwame Mayor,
a Centrist Politician. "Although I have endorsed Nana Akuffo Addo, it is very important for him
to learn to be humble and fair-minded", said the "People's Politician" who hinted that Nana Akuffo Addo's demeanor
towards him when he first met him in Los Angeles before the 2008 Ghana's Presidential election, in the company of
Allan Kyerematen was not pleasant at all. "The NPP Southern California invited me to attend
an event hosted for Nana Akufo Addo during the 2008 Presidential race in Los Angeles. Upon my arrival, I was introduced
as "Kwame Mayor". I observed Nana Akuffo Addo turning suddenly to ask Allan Kyerematen a question and pointing
towards me. "Perhaps, Nana Akuffo Addo asked Allan Kyerematen : "Is
that him" ?. "Although I did not hear exactly what Nana Akuffo addo asked Allan Kyerematen
about me, his attitude changed immediately as he shook my hand and I introduced myself as the nephew of Mr. Joe Appiah,
Ghana's Great Politician of Blessed Memory who was a former member of the United Party tradition." "Osagyefo
Dr" Kwame said that the NPP, an offspring of the U.P. tradition is actually the Political Party of Danquah-Busia-Dombo

agenda and strive to reach the realities of the Politics of the "New Millennium" and allow members of other Ethnic
groups such as our friends, brothers and sisters from the Northern part of Ghana and also, our friends, brothers and sisters
who are Ewes and Gas, etc, to become NPP Flagbearers and work for the interest of all Ghanaians --- in the same way,
NDC should allow Asantes, Kwahus, Denkyiras, Akuapems, Ewes, etc, to become a Flagbearer and work for the interest of
all Ghanaians. "Ghana needs a National and Pan-Africanist Agenda not Tribal or Ethnic Agendas",
said the Populist Politician who is optimistic of leading CPP to victory in 2012, to end the Politics of "Ethnic
Divide" in Ghana. The Pro-American Democracy Activist and Legendary Human Rights and Civil Rights Activist,
dubbed "America's Mandela" asked His Excellency, President John Evans Atta Mills to end the recent Politics of Censorship,
intimidation, arrest and interrogation of Journalist(s), especially, the harassment of Joy FM's Acting Editor.
" Even former President John Agyekum Kufuor, my nemesis who persecuted me after his government had systematically stolen
my strategic ideas, at least, allowed Press Freedom in Ghana", said the "Larger than Life Politician" who says
he is now a "Born-Again Christian" and has publicly forgiven former President John Agyekum Kufuor and former Military
Junta Leader, Jerry John Raswlings. "Folks, forgiveness does not mean that I should not remind
Humanity about Human Rights and Civil Rights abuses and shame the Conscience of those who abuse their powers to
steal from the People, and those who abuse their powers to persecute, kill, torture, and maim Civilians after arrogating
to themselves, the Powers of Judge and Jury", said the Ghanaian born Politician, reverred as "America's Mandela".
" And by the way, how can we forgive those who [refuse] to ask for forgiveness" ?, the Politician asked, as
he publicly hinted that he would not hesitate to forgive ex-AFRC Military Dictators, Jerry John Rawlings
(whose hands are equally guilty of murdering Rear Admiral Joy Yao Amedume), and Boakye Djan, (who personally ordered
the execution of the brave Okatakyie Akwasi Amankwa Afrifa) --- on condition that they themselves ask for forgiveness.
"Folks, the decision is in the hands of Jerry John Rawlings and Boakye Djan to make : to publicly ask for forgiveness or
to be condemned by history", said the "Democratic Rebel with a Good Cause". " I

the same USA, a Super Power and Leader of the Free World where former Vice President Dick Cheney once publicly insulted
a Law Maker by uttering "Go F...... Yourself...." "Ghana is a young Democracy
and we should not allow Political insults to destroy it, said the Populist Politician who is appealing to all
